Department of Education and Cultural Affairs Announces Director of South Dakota’s EveryTeacher Project
PIERRE - The Department of Education and Cultural Affairs announces the director of South Dakota’s EveryTeacher program. Karen Sabers Dalrymple has accepted the position. EveryTeacher is South Dakota’s teacher improvement strategy for improving teacher quality under the Teacher Quality Enhancement Program. In her letter of application, Sabers Dalrymple stated, “The work is captivating, important, and worthwhile.”
EveryTeacher recognizes teaching as important and challenging work and is based on the premise that the deeper the knowledge of professional teaching standards, the greater the support for teachers. Office of Policy and Accountability Director Melody Schopp said, “Sabers Dalrymple respects the work of teaching and acknowledges the great importance of a committed partnership among educational leaders from kindergarten through the university level.” EveryTeacher will build upon many of the promising programs and practices that these partners have already established.
Karen Sabers Dalrymple’s experiences as a K-12 teacher and administrator, educational consultant, adjunct university faculty member, and a DECA staff member will lend credibility to EveryTeacher as it forges a coalition of 16 institutions and agencies across the state.
