BOARD APPROVES FUNDING TO SUPPORT GROWTH ACROSS MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Board of Economic Development has approved funding for two projects expected to bring a combined investment of more than $395 million and create approximately 163 new jobs in the state.

South Dakota is Open for Opportunity, and these approvals show it in action,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “We’re supporting a major expansion in food production, investing in renewable energy, and fueling local economic development. Each project strengthens our communities and ensures long-term growth for our state.”

Bel Brands in Brookings was approved for a REDI loan of up to $10 million to construct an additional 100,000 square feet of space, doubling its current production capacity.

Ally Dakota Development received a $7,500 Economic Development Partnership Program grant to support the Fuel the Growth Economic Development Program.

Grant Solar LLC was approved for up to $2,775,673 through the Reinvestment Payment Program to build a 585-acre solar facility in McCook County.

“These projects will create good jobs and bring lasting value to communities across South Dakota,” said GOED Commissioner Bill Even. “When businesses invest here, it benefits not only our economy but also the families who call our state home.”
