Gov. Daugaard Names Scott Bollinger BOA Commissioner

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that he will appoint Scott Bollinger of Pierre to serve as commissioner of the Bureau of Administration (BOA).

“As someone who has been working in state government for more than 30 years, Scott has the experience needed to lead BOA. I thank him for his continued service and for taking on this new role,” Gov. Daugaard said.

Bollinger has served as deputy commissioner of BOA since January of 2016 and was the bureau’s finance officer from 1987 to 1991. Bollinger also held positions within the Bureau of Finance and Management and the Department of Corrections.

“I am honored that Gov. Daugaard has given me this opportunity,” said Bollinger. “I am excited to continue the great work that BOA does to serve the state.”

Bollinger is a native of Woonsocket. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of South Dakota. He and his wife, Deb, have four sons.

Bollinger will serve in his new capacity starting Wednesday, March 1.
