Texas Added to Concealed Weapon Permit Reciprocity List

PIERRE--Secretary of State Chris Nelson announced today that Texas has been added to South Dakota’s reciprocity agreements for concealed weapon permit holders from other states.
 
The State of South Dakota and Texas will now honor each other’s concealed weapons permits. 
 
South Dakota now has reciprocity agreements with the following 17 states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

In addition, on July 1st the State of South Dakota became a "recognition state" meaning that any valid concealed pistol permit issued to a nonresident of South Dakota is valid in South Dakota according to the terms of its issuance in the state of its issue.
