SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will close 471st Avenue on the north side of the Highway 34 intersection east of Colman on Monday, Aug. 22 for grading and paving operations.
The work is expected to be complete and the north side of the intersection opened by Saturday, Aug. 27.
The part of the project includes grading, concrete paving and asphalt concrete surfacing. East and westbound Highway 34 traffic will be maintained during this closure period.
This portion of the project is anticipated to be complete by mid-September.
The overall project, which involves highway intersection work at eight locations, is anticipated to be completed by Oct. 28, 2016.
The prime contractor for the $1.7 million project is BX Civil and Construction, Inc. of Dell Rapids.
