GOV. -ELECT DAUGAARD NAMES ADVISORY COMMITTEES TO AID IN CABINET SELECTION
PIERRE, S.D. – Gov.-elect Dennis Daugaard today announced the selection of several transition advisory committees.
The committees will aid the Gov.-elect and his Transition Team in identifying, recruiting, and screening candidates for Cabinet posts, and will reach out to other leaders in their communities for their input.
“I’d like to thank each of these people for volunteering their time to help me select my Cabinet,” Gov.-elect Daugaard said. “These people are leaders in their communities and our state, and I appreciate their willingness to help me in this way.”
In addition to identifying candidates for the Gov.-elect to consider, the committees will continue meeting to offer advice and outside perspective to the new Cabinet secretaries.
The following committees have been named and have begun their work:
Secretary of Economic Development advisory committee:

Secretary of Agriculture advisory committee:
• Janet Cronin, Gettysburg
• Doug Deiter, Faulkton
• Bill Even, Humboldt
• Larry Ness, Yankton
• Stanley Porch, Wanblee
• Rob Skjonsberg, Sioux Falls
Secretary of Tourism advisory committee:
• Jim Entenman, Sioux Falls
• Susan Johnson, Nemo
• George Kessler, Aberdeen
• Michelle Lintz, Rapid City
• Diana Saathoff, Rapid City
• Dave Sweet, Sioux Falls
• Meg Warder, HillCity

In addition to these committees, the Transition Team is also conducting searches for Secretary of Education, Secretary of Human Services, Secretary of Public Safety, Director of Tribal Relations, Secretary of Revenue, Commissioner of Information and Telecommunications, and Commissioner of Administration. Those advisory committees will be announced later.
The Adjutant General, who acts as the Secretary of Military and Veterans’ Affairs, will continue to serve through this spring, at which time he will replaced by two Cabinet-level officials: a new Adjutant General and a Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs.
