I-29 to open from Sioux Falls to Sioux City at 3 p.m. (CST)
PIERRE, S.D. – Effective at 3 p.m. (CST) on Saturday Dec. 26, Interstate 29 will re-open between Sioux Falls and the Iowa state line at Sioux City.
Officials remind motorists that even as segments of the interstate are being re-opened for travel after the Christmas week blizzard, winter driving conditions will be present, including some snowpacked and slippery areas and blowing snow.
Officials with the state Departments of Transportation and Public Safety are continuing to assess condition of highways in South Dakota to determine when other sections of interstate may be opened again to traffic.
Travelers are strongly encouraged to visit www.safetravelusa.com or call 511 to check the latest road conditions and travel advisories.
