MOUNTAIN LION POACHER SOUGHT

PIERRE -- Game, Fish and Parks is requesting help to find the person(s) who shot a mountain lion in the Black Hills during the second week of November. A radio collared lion was found dead about four miles south and three miles west of Sturgis near the Meade/Lawrence county line (about 1 mile south of Red Hill). 

"Someone deliberately and maliciously shot a lion that was part of an ongoing mountain lion study in the Black Hills," said Regional Law Enforcement Specialist Bruce Nachtigall of Rapid City. "A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of this poacher. Persons providing information about this case can remain anonymous."
