Resurfacing Project Scheduled to Begin on S.D. Highway 52 Near Yankton

 

YANKTON, S.D. – An asphalt resurfacing project is scheduled to begin on S.D. Highway 52 between Summit Street and S.D. Highway 50 in Yankton. Work on the project includes cold milling and asphalt concrete resurfacing.

 

Weather dependent, cold milling is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, at Summit Street and will progress to the west. Paving operations are scheduled to begin on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, and are expected to take four weeks to complete. During both the cold milling and asphalt paving operations, traffic will be moved through the work zones with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes during these times.

 

The contractor on the $15 million project is Central Specialties, Inc. of Alexandria, MN. The overall completion date for the project is Friday, Nov. 17, 2023.  Find additional information about this project at https://dot.sd.gov/yankton-highway52-pcn-05et.
