Ladd Sentenced in Charles Mix County 1st Degree Manslaughter Case 

PIERRE, S.D.-   Attorney General Marty Jackley announced that Jennifer Ladd, 38, was sentenced today for the 2009 death of her boyfriend, Louis Fast Horse. Ladd was convicted of 1st Degree Manslaughter following a five day jury trial in Charles Mix County in March, 2010. Ladd was sentenced to 60 years imprisonment, with 40 years suspended. The case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the Charles Mix Sheriff’s Office. This case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Bob Mayer and Charles Mix County State’s Attorney Pam Heim.
