Gov. Daugaard Names Willadsen To District 11 House Seat
PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that he will appoint Mark Willadsen to the South Dakota State House of Representatives.
Willadsen, 59, will represent District 11, filling the seat that was vacated by Rep. Christine Erickson, who resigned last month to assume her position on the Sioux Falls City Council. He owns Willadsen Insurance Agency in Sioux Falls, and he previously served in the state House from 2005 to 2009 and 2011 to 2013.
“The people of District 11 have trusted Mark to be their representative before, and I appreciate his willingness to serve again,” said Gov. Daugaard.
Willadsen’s appointment is effective immediately and runs through the end of this year.
“I’m pleased to have the opportunity to serve again,” said Willadson. “I thank Gov. Daugaard for his trust and confidence in me.”
Willadson and his wife, Suzanne, have three grown children and 11 grandchildren. He is an avid hunter and fisherman and an active member of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Sioux Falls and First Lutheran Church.
District 11 includes areas of western Sioux Falls near Roosevelt High School, as well as rural areas to the west of Sioux Falls.
