SD State Fair Offers Extreme Entertainment!

(HURON, SD):  Get ready South Dakota for extreme summer fun at the 2004 South Dakota State Fair.  The Grandstand will feature PRCA Rodeo, X Treme Monster Truck Nationals, and Midwest Supercross.

The SD State Fair and Sutton Rodeos are proud to bring to you two days of PRCA action. The excitement begins on Sunday, September 5th with a Ranch Rodeo at 1:30 p.m. and the PRCA Rodeo in the Grandstand on September, 5-6 at 7:30pm.  It will feature the very best in professional rodeo, world champion cowboys and cowgirls, world champion bullfighters, award winning livestock, cowboy poker, specialty acts and the famous bull teeter-totter.  Mutton Bustin will also be available for kids ages 5-7.

The X Treme Monster Truck Nationals will storm into town on Thursday, September 9th.  There will be one giant show featuring some of the baddest monster trucks on the planet, including Former World Champion “CYCLOPS” who will be challenged by WWE “Stone Cold”, the all new “Goldberg”, “Venom”, and the wild man Jessie Bergy and “Playin For Keeps”.  They will go head to head in non stop car crushing action, including side by side racing and the crowd favorite Free Style.  The crowd will decide the winner of the Free Style.  Thursday night will also feature World Class Cycle Jumpers from The X Games performing their high-flying tricks. “Spider-Man” will also appear at the show.  He will be seen by all, but purchasers of the VIP Pit Pass will get to meet him and get a free toy monster truck.

Then get ready for the extreme excitement of Midwest Supercross on Friday September 10. This is the first time a supercross event of this kind has come to the State Fair.  These guys fly high and fly fast. Motorcycle jumps two to three stories high. See riders all ages from the five-state region compete for the summer’s premier supercross crown. Ticket holders will be able to see the preliminaries during the afternoon and the final competition that evening. 

“Our grandstand line-up is unbelievable this year,” stated Susan Hayward, manager of the SD State Fair. “From the concerts to the wheel events we have top notch entertainment that will be fun for the whole family.” 

The 2004 South Dakota State Fair will be held September 4-11.
