Ranch Rodeo Event to Be Held At State Fair

(Huron, SD) – Rodeo enthusiasts will get a full dose of rodeo action at the 2004 South Dakota State Fair!  The Ranch Rodeo will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Grandstand on Sunday, September 5.

Come see actual working cowboys demonstrate their ranch hand skills as they compete for prize money.  The Ranch Rodeo will feature mutton bustin’, team branding, double mugging, range doctorin’, and a trailer relay.

“Rodeo is South Dakota’s state sport and we are thrilled to have three big performances for fairgoers!” stated Susan Hayward; “The Ranch Rodeo is an addition to this year’s fair and will be a ‘must see’ for families!”

Teams interested in participating may contact the South Dakota State Fair office at 605-353-7340 or visit www.sdstatefair.com for entry forms and rules.  The entry deadline is August 16.

The PRCA Rodeo performances will take place September 5-6 at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Grandstand.   Dierks Bentley will also perform on the Freedom Stage at 5:30 p.m. prior to the final performance on September 6.

The 2004 South Dakota State Fair will take place September 4-11 in Huron.
