(Pierre)--- Country music legend Kenny Rogers will take the stage on Wednesday, July 30th, at the 2003 South Dakota State Fair in Huron.

Rogers will delight Grandstand crowds with several of his classic hits including “The Gambler,” “Lucille” and “Lady.”  He will also be performing hits from his recent album She Rides Wild Horses.

Kenny Rogers was born in 1938 in HoustonTexas.  By the age of 19, he had his first million album seller with “Crazy Feeling.”   He later joined such groups as the ‘Bobby Doyle Trio,’ the ‘New Christy Minstrels’ and ‘The First Edition.’  By 1976, Kenny began his solo career.  From these humble beginnings, he has come to be regarded as one of country music's biggest crossover successes.

Kenny's numerous accolades include four Grammy Awards, 11 People's Choice Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards and five Country Music Association Awards.  He has recorded sixty albums during his career and sold over 105 million copies worldwide.  He is one of the few artists in the history of the music business to have hit singles in six decades.
