Six Mile Road Crash
Sioux Falls, SD –A Brandon woman was severely injured in a Minnehaha County crash this afternoon. It happened about 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of SD Highway 42 and Six Mile Road.
Richard W. Gibbons, 47, of Sioux Falls was driving a semi-truck east on Highway 42. Courtney J. Moose, 33, of Brandon was driving a GMC Yukon north on Six Mile Road. Gibbons and Moose collided in the intersection of Highway 42 and Six Mile Road. Following that collision, the semi-truck collided with a third vehicle, a Chevy Silverado, that was traveling west on Highway 42 and was stopped at the intersection. The Silverado was driven by Michael Klynsma, 22, of Hospers, IA.
Moose sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. No one else was injured.
Seatbelts were used by Moose and all the occupants of the Klynsma vehicle.
Gibbons is facing charges for failure to yield.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
