Driver #1: Rita Miner, 48, Ridgeview, no injuries
Passenger #1: Hector Paz, 52, Ridgeview, no injuries
Passenger #2: William Miner, 38, Ridgeview, no injuries
Vehicle # 1: 1998 Ford Windstar
EAGLE BUTTE, S.D. – An 18-year-old Green Grass resident died in a car-pedestrian accident early Friday on U.S. Highway 212 three miles east of Eagle Butte on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation.
Raylene Briggs was walking a mile west of the Highway 212 junction with SD Highway 63 when she was struck by a 1998 Ford Windstar driven by Rita Miner, 48, of Ridgeview. Neither Miner nor two passengers in her vehicle were injured.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the FBI are investigating, with assistance from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
