Homeland Security Director Elected
PIERRE, S.D.Alan Bock, South Dakota director of Homeland Security, has been elected to the executive committee of the Governors Homeland Security Advisors Council.

Bock is one of eight state homeland security directors who will serve on the executive committee. California Homeland Security Secretary Matt Bettenhausen chairs the executive committee.

The National Governors Association formed the advisors council in 2006. The council allows homeland security directors from each state and territory to share information and expertise on security issues. It also offers governors a way to stay informed about issues that affect the implementation of homeland security policies in the states.
