State prison inmate dies

Pierre, S.D. –A state prison inmate has died as a result of an apparent suicide.

Webster Running, age 26, was found unresponsive in a cell at the Mike Durfee State Prison on February 23rd. He was transported to a hospital in Tyndall where he was pronounced dead.

Running was sentenced in 2006 to 8 years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance out of Lincoln County. 

The Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the death.  An autopsy will be conducted.
