GFP Holding More Mountain Lion Meetings In West River
PIERRE, S.D. -- The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks will be holding another series of public meetings across western South Dakota to solicit input regarding mountain lion management in South Dakota.
Game, Fish and Parks has developed a Comprehensive Mountain Lion Management Plan for South Dakota. The plan can be reviewed online by visiting the GFP Homepage at www.sdgfp.info, holding the computer cursor over "Outdoor Education," clicking on the link to "Mountain Lions," then clicking on the link to the mountain lion management plan.
Part of the process for developing the Comprehensive Mountain Lion Management Plan for South Dakota involves taking public comment. Individuals that are unable to attend the public meetings are encouraged to visit the web site and provide comments directly on the web page. Comments can also be submitted by writing to: Mountain Lion Plan Comments, Game, Fish and Parks, 523 East Capitol Ave., Pierre, S.D. 57501.
Meetings are planned to take public input on this proposal. Listed below are the dates, times and locations for five additional meetings in the West River area.
- Friday, April 29, 6 – 10 p.m., Martin, S.D., Community Room, Bennett County Library.
- Monday, May 2, 6 – 10 p.m., Bison, S. D., Grand Electric Bldg.
- Tuesday, May 3, 6 – 10 p.m, Faith, S.D., Parish Hall, St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
- Wednesday, May 4, 6 – 10 p.m., Buffalo, S.D., Harding County Courthouse.
- Friday, May 6, 6 – 10 p.m., Wall, S.D., Community Center.
