NEW BOOK ON BIRDS OF SOUTH DAKOTA RELEASED
PIERRE -- A new, revised edition of the Birds of South Dakota has just been released.
According to Dan Tallman, one of the authors of this third edition, the book has major new features. "The book has color photographs of every South Dakota bird species, new color state range maps, identification and ecological comments on all species, color habitat photos and banding recovery maps. All this is in a hardbound format of 470 pages."
The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service helped fund production of this new guide to South Dakota birds. Birds of South Dakota was written by Dan Tallman, David Swanson and Jeffrey Palmer, with bird sighting contributions from many birders, both residents and visitors, who have discovered the enjoyment of bird watching and bird study.
The book sells for $49.95, plus $6 for shipping and handling. To purchase a copy of the Birds of South Dakota, send a check or purchase order for $55.95 to: SDOU c/o Dan Tallman, Northern State University, Box 740, Aberdeen, S.D. 57401.
