SD IA NE Business Tax Workshops Offered in Sioux Falls

(PIERRESD) - Two workshops being held in Sioux Falls next month will offer helpful state tax information to area business owners who conduct business in South DakotaIowa and Nebraska.

The South Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation, the Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance, and the Nebraska Department of Revenue are hosting the Border Issues Workshops which are scheduled for April 13-14, 2005 at the South Dakota Technology Business Center2329 N. Career Avenue in Sioux Falls.

A Sales and Use Tax Workshop is set for Wed., April 13 from 9:00am to noon and 1:00pm to 4:00pm. A Contractors' Tax Workshop is scheduled for Thurs., April 14 from 9:00am to noon and 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Topics to be covered at the workshops include how and when to apply for a sales tax license; when to apply South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska tax; exemptions from sales and use taxes; nontaxable uses of tangible goods; agricultural products and production; exempt entities; local taxes; use tax; purchases for resale; filing returns by paper and electronically; an update on the Streamlined Sales Tax Project; and state income taxes.
