Motor Vehicle Registration Self-Service Terminal Sites Selected in Sioux Falls

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles, has awarded two new site locations in Sioux Falls to place motor vehicle registration self-service terminals (SST).

The 24-hour SST is a fully automated vehicle registration renewal station and dispenses license plate renewal tags on the spot.

Get-N-Go, located on 10th & Arrowhead Parkway, and the Hy-Vee Food Store, located on 47th & Louise, have been selected as the new SST terminal locations in the Sioux Falls area.

The original request-for-site proposal issued by the Revenue Department on July 14 indicated one site would be selected. After receiving two equally attractive location proposals, Motor Vehicles Division Director Deb Hillmer said the decision was made to install two machines in Sioux Falls.

“We are excited for the opportunity to install multiple machines in Sioux Falls and to partner with two outstanding businesses,” said Hillmer. “Both offered the convenience of location and fit within the parameters of the request, including being open to the public 24/7 and offering a designated area for the machine’s placement.”

“The real convenience is that vehicle owners from any county can use the terminal with the proper identification,” continued Hillmer.

Both machines are expected to be installed and operational later this fall.
