SDDOT to hold hearing on US 18 project by Maverick Junction
 
Hot Springs, SD -- The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold a public hearing to discuss the reconstruction of US 18 near Maverick Junction on Tuesday, May 30 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the MuellerCivicCenter, located at 801 S. 6th Street in Hot Springs.
 
SDDOT plans to reconstruction US 18 from Maverick Junction, west one mile. The project includes rebuilding that section of highway, adding a concrete surface and replacing structures. The estimated $6 million project is scheduled to be built in 2009.
 
SDDOT staff will present different options for the project shortly after 5:30 p.m.Afterwards, SDDOT staff will be available with displays to discuss the proposed project and answer questions. Information will be available on the acquisition of right-of-way, relocation assistance, the environmental impacts of the project, and the economic and social effects of the project’s location and design.
