I-90 and I-29 to experience some ramp closures
 
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Starting Thursday (May 22), the intersection of SD38 and Tea/Ellis Road and the intersection of SD38 and the I-90 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 390 will be upgraded to three-way stop intersections. Travelers utilizing SD38 may experience delays and traffic congestion.
 
The intersections are being upgraded to accommodate additional traffic due to ramp closures at the I-90/I-29 Interchange.
 
The following is a list of ramp closures associated with the reconstruction project.
 
  • Interstate 90 Exit 390: SD38 on-ramp to I-90 eastbound – Currently closed
  • Interstate 90 Exit 396: I-90 Eastbound off-ramp to I29 northbound – Currently closed
  • Interstate 90 Exit 396: I-90 Eastbound off-ramp to I29 southbound – Will close May 27
  • Interstate 29 Exit 84: I-29 Southbound off-ramp to I90 eastbound – Currently closed
  • Interstate 29 Exit 84: I-29 Northbound off-ramp to I90 eastbound – Will close May 30
 
Travelers utilizing these sections of Interstate 90, Interstate 29 and SD38 are encouraged to follow the posted detours and may experience delays and traffic congestion.
 
Work on the ramps at the I29 / I90 Interchange is anticipated to be complete by July 1. Head-to-head traffic will remain on the westbound lanes until the completion of the project, which is anticipated to be the end of September.
