SD Highway 44 Chip Seal from the Junction of Highway 50 East to the Junction of Highway 281
 
MITCHELL – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will be chip sealing a 15.1 mile section of SD Highway 44 from the junction of Highway 50 east to the junction of Highway 281. The chip seal is scheduled to begin on July 14 and should be completed by July 15, weather permitting.
 
Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot car. A 15 minute delay can be expected. Loose gravel will be present for 36 to 72 hours after each day’s chip seal application. Traffic should travel at 40 MPH during this time frame. The permanent pavement marking is scheduled to be applied within 14 days of completion of the chip seal.
