SpearfishCanyon reopens, further work delayed until next week
SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish Canyon will be open to traffic until Tuesday (Jan. 22).
Drilling, blasting, and scaling operations have ceased due to an unfavorable short-range weather forecast. Crews expect to resume operations on Tuesday (Jan. 22).
For the most current information, travelers should continue to call (605) 641-5446, tune to radio station AM 1670, or monitor www.SDDOT.com. Due to spotty radio reception, residents above Bridal Veil Falls are encouraged to call the phone line for information. Signs are also placed at both ends of Spearfish Canyon notifying motorists of the next closure.
