Road Resurfacing Work to Begin between Lead and Cheyenne Crossing
LEAD, SD – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will begin
resurfacing work on US 14A between Lead and Cheyenne Crossing on Thursday, July 6.
Traffic will be directed through the work area by flaggers and pilot cars during working hours. Motorists should expect up to 15 minute delays. Normal traffic flows will be maintained at night on a milled surface for approximately one week. A first layer of asphalt surfacing will be placed after the entire surface is milled and will take approximately one week to complete. The final layer of asphalt surfacing will be placed at a later date. All of the work is scheduled to be complete on or before October 6, 2006.
This project is being completed to replace the surfacing between Lead and Cheyenne Crossing. Guardrail has also been added to this project for safety upgrades.
