Public meeting planned for US18/US385 and Heartland Expressway projects
HOT SPRINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold a public meeting on Feb. 8 to discuss the proposed addition of two lanes on US18 and US385 from Maverick Junction to Oelrichs. The SDDOT will also discuss the use of a segment of the historic Angostura Irrigation District and a future project to complete the Heartland Expressway from Oelrichs to the Nebraska State Line.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the MuellerCivicCenter conference room, located at 801 S. 6th St. in Hot Springs.
SDDOT staff will be available with displays to answer questions and the public will have an opportunity to present written comments. The Environmental Assessment for the project will also be available for review and comment. Copies of the Environmental Assessment can also be reviewed at the SDDOT Custer Area Office, 115 Centennial Drive, Custer, SD or at the SDDOT Environmental Office, 700 E. Broadway Avenue, Pierre, SD. A copy of the EA may be requested by contacting Dave Graves, Environmental Engineer by phone at 605-773-5727 or by e-mail at dave.graves@state.sd.us.
