Highway 37 South of Mitchell Open to Traffic

MITCHELL: -- The South Dakota Department of Transportation is pleased to announce that SD Highway 37 from Mitchell to Ethan will open to traffic at 5:00 p.m. today. 

Box culvert extension work over Twelve Mile Creek remains to be completed. This work will be done under traffic and should be completed by October 18. Other minor cleanup work and seeding will also be taking place during this time. 

Once traffic on Highway 37 is back to what it was prior to the start of the project, the detour route that was used during construction will be repaired. This work will also be completed by October 18.

The Department of Transportation would like to thank the public for their patience while Highway 37 was under construction. The finished product will provide motorists with a smooth, comfortable ride for many years.
