Reconstruction Work to Begin on Omaha Street in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, SD - - Reconstruction work on Omaha Street between Cambell Street and LaCrosse Street in Rapid City is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 13. The first phase of construction will be on the north and west legs of the intersection of Cambell and Omaha Street. After that portion of work is completed, full reconstruction of Omaha Street will begin with two-way traffic being carried in the existing westbound lanes. 

Travel through the work zone may be slow at times, especially during peak hours. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes around the work site. 

Construction work is scheduled for completion by August 2. The prime contractor for the project is Stanley J. Johnsen Concrete Contractor, Inc.
