Resurfacing Project To Start on Highways 1804, 204 and 1806
PIERRE, SD -- The asphalt concrete resurfacing project on Highways 1804, 204 and 1806 will begin this week, according to the Department of Transportation.
The nearly 10-mile project extends from the north side of Pierre on Highway 1804 north to the Oahe Dam, across the Oahe Dam on Highway 204, and from Highway 204 to Highway 1806 up to the spillway.
Work has already started on flattening approaches and constructing a right-turn lane at Gray Goose Road on Highway 1804. Cold milling of the asphalt surface will start this week with asphalt concrete resurfacing scheduled to begin the week of June 3.
Traffic will be maintained through the construction zone with flaggers and a pilot car. Travelers may experience delays of 10 to 15 minutes during working hours. There will be two work zones for a short period of time while cold milling and asphalt concrete paving are both in progress.
The contractor for this $969,521 project is Anderson Western from Bismarck, ND. The estimated completion date is mid-June.
