Work To Begin on Interstate 90 Between Plankinton and Mount Vernon
Mitchell, S.D. – Work will begin in preparation for concrete paving between Plankinton and Mount Vernon in the east bound lanes on Interstate 90.
Starting May 3, contractors will be preparing the west bound lanes for head to head traffic. During this phase of construction, travelers should expect instances of one lane traffic each direction.
Work is scheduled to begin on concrete removal and concrete paving in the east bound lanes the week of May 24. During this phase of construction, traffic will be head to head in the west bound lanes and speeds will be reduced to 65 MPH for approximately 12 miles, from mile marker 308 near Plankinton to mile marker 320 near Mount Vernon.
Work is expected to be completed by October 29, 2010.
