Wine tasting, author talk for latest State Historical Society book
 
PIERRE, S.D. – A wine tasting and author discussion are being held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the South DakotaCulturalHeritageCenter to debut the latest book from the South Dakota State Historical Society, Along the Grapevine Trail, by Starley Talbott.
 
The free event, held from 5-7 p.m., includes a book discussion by Talbott at 5:30 p.m.In Along the Grapevine Trail, published by the South Dakota State Historical Society Press, Talbott introduces readers to many vineyards and wineries in South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska, from award-winning, large-scale vintners to family-oriented growers. Information about growing techniques, harvesting, crushing, fermenting, and bottling fill the pages and provide an excellent resource for visitors.
 
Also included will be wine tasting from seven South Dakota vineyards:
  •       Chrisarmari Estates Vineyard & Winery, Pierre
  •       Dakota Falls Winery, Brandon
  •       Hahn Creek Winery, Crooks
  •       Prairie Berry Winery, Hill City
  •       Schadé Vineyard, Volga
  •       Valiant Vineyards, Vermillion
  •       Wilde Prairie Winery, Brandon
