South Dakota Film Office teams up with Reel-Scout™
All new locations library now available online
PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Film Office has launched a brand new locations library online at www.FilmSD.com. The library, hosted by Reel-Scout™, features location images, permit information, location descriptions and more.
“The film industry in South Dakota has seen significant growth this year with an estimated economic impact of $7 million,” said Billie Jo Waara, director, South Dakota Office of Tourism. “This added feature to our website is another tool we can use to market South Dakota as the ideal filming location destination.”
Reel-Scout™ is a digital film library that is fully integrated with project and client management, designed specifically for film commissions. The public library allows for images to be referenced in a number of ways including: name, county, city, type, period and more.
“The location library is a valuable tool to the film office,” said Lesa Jarding, film and media representative, South Dakota Office of Tourism. “We now have South Dakota location images at the finger tips of those who use them most.”
The South Dakota Film Office is part of Film the West, a consortium of the film offices in South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. The four offices work collaboratively to attend trade shows and host receptions throughout the year. All four film offices partner with Reel-Scout™.
