Office of Tourism Announces Million Dollar Challenge Partners
PIERRE, S.D. – Five additional partners have been named for the Governor’s Million Dollar Challenge. They are: Four Bands Community Fund, South Dakota Winegrowers Association, Oyate Trail of Southern South Dakota, Northern Lights Inn in Britton and Rockin’ Ribfest in historic downtown Yankton.
Participants in the Million Dollar Challenge submitted application forms to the Office of Tourism for approval. Members of the Governor’s Tourism Advisory Board then reviewed the proposals and, after careful consideration, recommended to approve these five cooperative efforts.
The proposals were approved with the understanding that partners will provide matching funds in a cooperative marketing program and follow specified guidelines. Additionally, each cooperative project has been assigned a Governor’s Tourism Board liaison to work with the organization, as well as a primary contact staff member from the Office of Tourism.
There are still funds available for the Governor’s Million Dollar Challenge. Applications will continue to be accepted until 100% of the funds are allocated. Potential partners may submit applications and proposals to the Office of Tourism at the following address:
