CRYSTAL SPRINGS RANCH RODEO EMPHASIZES FAMILY ENJOYMENT

Thousands of rodeo enthusiasts will gather “where the pavement ends and the West begins” at the annual Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo, June 27-29 in Clear Lake. More than 300 PRCA cowboys and cowgirls will compete for a prize purse totaling more than $40,000 in seven events including saddle bronc, bull riding, steer wrestling, bareback riding, calf and team roping, and barrel racing.

“People continue to enjoy the Crystal Spring Rodeo because it is a family show. It is an event where the whole family can come out and have fun cheering for their favorite cowboy or cowgirl,” said Gary DeJong, Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo director.

Families may camp for free while enjoying cowboy living with horseback riding, wide open spaces and campfire cooking.

“With 600 acres of prairie to camp on, families can sit back, relax, look at the stars and get to know other rodeo fans,” said DeJong.

Festivities and performances begin Friday night at 8 p.m. with the first 350 kids receiving free hats at the PRCA Championship Rodeo. Saturday will be a full day of Western enjoyment with a trail ride, horse clinic and parade along with the rodeo performance at 8 p.m.

Call1-888-CS RODEO (1-888-277-6336) for information and tickets to the Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo or visit www.travelsd.com.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 to 16, and free for children age 5 and under. Three-day passes are $33 for adults and $18 for children.
