COWBOY UP AT THE BURKE STAMPEDE RODEO

Dust off your 10-gallon hat, strap on the chaps and pull on your boots for the Burke Stampede Rodeo July 11-13 in Burke. Voted South Dakota Rodeo Association’s Rodeo of the Year seven times, the Burke Stampede features rodeo action at its finest. Discover what the West is truly about with exhilarating events including wild horse races, mutton bustin’, wild cow rides, calf roping, bull riding, and barrel racing. Cowgirls and cowboys entertain with thrills and spills each night with performances beginning at 7 p.m. Slack will be held Sunday at 9 a.m.

The Burke Stampede Rodeo has provided family entertainment for 14 years for spectators and rodeo competitors. “It is just like the all-time family event,” said Renee Sutton, Stampede committee member. “Everyone from kids to grandparents enjoy the rodeo. Even the competitors bring their families for the festivities.”
