Vendors featured at Cultural Heritage Center on Dec. 4

PIERRE, S.D. – Eat. Drink. Shop. Be merry!

Some of the best culinary artists and fine artists in South Dakota will sell their creations in the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. CST on Saturday, Dec. 4.

“A variety of items – from stomach-pleasing to eye-pleasing – will be offered by South Dakota vendors,” said Patricia Miller, president of the South Dakota Heritage Fund, the nonprofit fund-raising partner of the South Dakota State Historical Society.

“The vendors we have invited offer a variety of quality products sure to please everyone on the gift-giving list,” Miller said. “They include sweets, jewelry, coffee, note cards, pottery and art. Four-legged members of the family have not been overlooked: One of the vendors will sell homemade treats for dogs.”

Samples of coffee and edible treats will be provided during the event.

Jess Elofson of Brandon will bring a pottery wheel and clay to the Cultural Heritage Center to demonstrate at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. how pottery is made.

Angela Marie Poches of Rapid City painted four watercolors of ornaments from the decorated holiday trees at the Capitol. The watercolors have been made into note cards that celebrate the yuletide season. She will be at the Cultural Heritage Center to sell the note cards, as well as prints of the watercolor she painted to commemorate this year’s Capitol Centennial observance.
