Gov. Rounds announces Watertown Capital for a Day Program
WATERTOWN, S.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds announced the agenda today for his visit to Watertown on Wednesday, September 20, for the last Capital for a Day in 2006. The day’s events will be held at the WatertownEvent Center.
1 - 3:15 p.m. (CT) -- Sights & Sounds of Watertown
Community leaders will host Cabinet officials and state representatives during tours and meetings in Watertown.
3:30 - 6 p.m. -- Executive Branch Expo
WatertownEventCenter – Concourse area
Governor Rounds & Cabinet are available to the public
4 - 4:30 p.m. -- Reach Out and Read
WatertownEventCenter -- Dakota Dome
One of First Lady Jean Rounds’ initiatives is to share the joys of reading with children. Children are invited to join her for story time in the Center’s Dakota Dome.
6 - 7 p.m. -- Community Dinner
WatertownEventCenter – Ballroom
The community is invited to dine with all Capital for a Day participants in the ballroom. Tickets are $10 per person in advance at the Chamber of Commerce, 605.886.5814.
6:30 p.m. -- Governor’s Address
WatertownEventCenter – Ballroom
The governor will speak briefly and then ask for questions and advice from the community.
