Sunday-Wednesday, April 21-25, Anaheim, Calif. Maureen Droz, South Dakota Office of Tourism, will attend the Travel Industry Association of America’s (TIA) annual International Pow Wow. TIA's International Pow Wow is the travel industry's premier international marketplace and is the largest generator of travel to the United States. Maureen will take part in pre-scheduled business appointments with travel organizations from every region of the country, as well as international and domestic buyers. Monday, April 23, Rapid City, 9 a.m. (MDT) - The SD Real Estate Commission is hosting its Spring Caravan series on Fair Housing at the Rapid City Ramkota, 2111 N. Tuesday, April 24, Sioux Falls, 8:30 a.m. (CDT) – The Dept. of Labor will be holding a Job Corps informational presentation at the Sioux Falls Career Center at 811 East 10th Street. Staff from both the Boxelder Job Corps Center and the Sioux Falls Career Center will provide an overview of the program and how to apply. Job Corps is the nation’s largest residential training program, which provides educational and career training to eligible young adults ages 16 – 24 at no cost. Everyone is welcome and should RSVP by Friday, April 20 to Betsy Alick at elizabeth.alick@state.sd.us or (605) 367-5300.

Thursday, April 26, Pierre, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (CDT) - The first meeting of the Zaniya Task Force will be held at the MatthewsTraining Center, JoeFossBuilding.  Gov. Rounds plans to address the task force the first hour of the meeting.  The Zaniya Task Force was created by House Bill 1169 during the 2007 Legislative Session.  The purpose of the task force is to examine South Dakota's uninsured population and to offer opportunities for health care coverage to the uninsured.    The task force will meet the second Thursday of each month following the April meeting through September 2007 (next meeting May 10). For more information, contact Kevin Forsch, 773-3212.
