PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds has appointed Brian Gosch, Rapid City, as a District 32 Republican member of the House of Representatives.

“I am very pleased that Brian Gosch has agreed to fill the vacant position in the South Dakota House of Representatives,” said Gov. Rounds. “I have known Brian since 2002 and know that he and his wife, Heather, have been active members of the Rapid City community. He will do a great job representing the people of District 32 in Pennington County.”

Brian Gosch, a native of Aberdeen, S.D., is a 1993 graduate of The University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., and a 1996 graduate of the University of South Dakota Law School in Vermillion.

After law school, Gosch worked as a lawyer for Black Hills Legal Services. Since 1998, he has worked as a lawyer for South Dakota Advocacy Services.

“I am greatly honored Governor Rounds has the confidence in me to represent the interests of District 32,” said Gosch. “I look forward to the challenge and helping him make South Dakota even better.”

Gosch and his wife, Heather, have 5 children, Anthony (13), Leah (12), Erika (6), Jocelyn (4), and Easton (3½ weeks).

He fills the vacancy left by Alan Hanks.
