Secretary of Tourism and State Development Hagen announces resignation

PIERRE, S.D.  – Gov. Mike Rounds announced today that Jim Hagen, Secretary of South Dakota Department of Tourism and State Development will resign his position effective Jan. 17, 2006.

“Jim has done a fantastic job of positioning the state to meet or exceed the goals outlined in the 2010 Initiative,” said Gov. Rounds on the announcement. “He is a great leader, and will be successful in his new opportunity.  I wish him all the best.”

Hagen has been the secretary since March of 2004.  An interim secretary will be named before Hagen’s departure in January.
