Fire Size:  10,744 acres
Location:  South of Deadwood and Lead
Percent Contained:  85%
Expected Containment Date: 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2002

Current Situation:  Crews are engaged in full scale mop up as fire activity continues to diminish. Projected containment date has been moved up from Tuesday to Sunday July 7. The incident management team in cooperation with local agencies and landowners are developing a rehabilitation plan for the fire area.

Personnel: 897
Resources include:  5 Type One crews, 20 Type Two crews, 60 engines, 10 dozers, 17 water tenders, 5 helicopters and 2 air tankers.

Road Closures:
* Yellow Creek Road from the Hideaway Road junction to Kirk Road.
* Upper Two Bit Road.
* Gilt Edge Road.

Road Restrictions:
* U.S. Highway 14A from west of the Shonley subdivision to the intersection of U.S. Highway 14A and U.S. Highway 85 is open to residents only.
* Galena road is open to residents only, but they must enter via Highway 385 at Wild Bill Campground where a trooper will be standing by to verify residency.
