Jewett, Johnson Reappointed to the Board of Regents

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard has reappointed Harvey Jewett IV of Aberdeen and Dr. Kathryn Johnson of Hill City to new six-year terms on the South Dakota Board of Regents.

Jewett was first appointed to a partial term as a Regent in 1997; he was reappointed in 1999 and 2005.

Dr. Johnson initially was appointed to the Board of Regents in 2005.

“These two individuals have been stellar members of the board,” Gov. Daugaard said.  “Their extensive experience and incredible dedication to the education of South Dakota’s youth is to be commended.  I thank them for agreeing to continue their service.”

There are nine members on the Board of Regents, which is the governing body of the public university system in South Dakota. Regents’ appointments by the Governor are subject to confirmation by the state Senate.
