To Discuss No Child Left Behind

Vermillion - Last year, President George W. Bush signed into law the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 to help better educate the children of America, particularly students of disadvantaged or minority status. Now, one year later, the project is redefining education around the nation.

On Thursday, April 10, at 8 p.m. CT/ 7 MT, South Dakota Focus, a program of SDPB Television, will visit with experts in education about what South Dakota is doing and how the law affects the children in the state.

Panelists will answer questions from people around the state. Guests include:

Wade Pogany - South Dakota Department of Education and Cultural Affairs

Donna Dekraai - President of the South Dakota Education Association

Tim Mitchell - Chamberlain Schools Superintendent

Patti Berg - President of the South Dakota Parent Teacher Association

To submit a question to South Dakota Focus, call 1-877-TALK-PTV during the show or e-mail the program at SDFocus@sdpb.org. South Dakota Focus, a regular feature of SDPB Television hosted by Richard Muller, zeroes in on the issues and the problems on South Dakotans’ minds.
