Rapid City Gains Digital TV Station

South Dakota Public Broadcasting began the move to digital television when it began broadcasting from its first digital transmitter in Rapid City earlier this month.

Viewers with a digital television set or a converter can tune to KBHE-DT, Channel 26, or those without digital capabilities may see SDPB's digital channel at Sears in Rapid City.

For the present, KBHE-DT will broadcast a national PBS digital schedule. The schedule can be accessed at sdpb.org by following the "Television" link followed by "Programs and Schedules." As more SDPB transmitters make the move to digital, SDPB Television will start broadcasting its local schedule. With the Rapid City transmitter is in place, work will now begin on converting the other eight transmitters throughout the state to digital formats.
