Showplace Expands to Beresford

Pierre - Showplace Wood Products of Harrisburg has expanded its manufacturing operations to Beresford, Chris Braendlin, commissioner, Governor’s Office of Economic Development, announced today, November 21, 2001.

To offset the costs of expansion, Showplace Wood Products was awarded a $464,801 REDI Fund loan for new manufacturing equipment at both the Beresford and Harrisburg facilities. "The REDI Fund is an effective tool to help companies finance their expansions," Braendlin said.

The Beresford expansion will relocate some phases of the manufacturing process to the new facility and enlarge the finishing area of the Harrisburg facility. Showplace Wood Products is a two-year-old start-up company that specializes in manufacturing wood cabinets. Operations began in Harrisburg in March 2000 after the completion of a 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

Project costs total more than $750,000 and Showplace projects to add 40 new full-time positions by 2003.
