FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 CONTACT: Mary Lehecka Nelson, Marketing and Public Relations Manager ASI to Begin Next Round of Hiring RAPID CITY, S.D. – Up to 50 new jobs will be added in the Rapid City area when Advanced Services, Inc. (ASI), a customer service business, begins its next wave of hiring, Gov. Mike Rounds announced today. ASI, which located its call center in Rapid City in 1998, currently employs about 170 people. Over the next several months, the firm will grow to about 330 employees as part of its service expansion plan. ASI is hiring in waves. Each employment wave adds up to 50 positions. “I’m delighted to hear that ASI is ready to take on more staff,” Gov. Rounds said. “As the economy begins to rebound, announcements like this from quality companies like ASI are vital.” Today’s announcement marks ASI’s second round of hiring. About 45 of the new positions are Consumer Advocate jobs. Consumer Advocates answer questions and provide customer service. During the hiring period, ASI is also looking for two to four Team Leaders and a Team Manager. “We were very pleased with the caliber and number of applications we received during our first wave of hiring in November and December,” said Carol Bancroft, ASI Senior Vice President and Center Manager. “We are looking forward to beginning our next wave of hiring. This new group will begin with orientation on March 5, and start their six-week training period on March 8.” ASI offers employees four to six weeks of paid training; medical, vision, and dental insurance; paid vacations; and tuition reimbursement. Consumer Advocates start at $10 per hour. Team Leader and Team Manager pay is based on experience. ASI, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Appliances. The company uses a new consumer relations model called “case ownership,” which is designed to leave callers more satisfied with GE products and services. When a consumer calls in to ASI, the Consumer Advocate that answers is assigned to that customer until the issue is resolved. To apply, visit www.applytoasi.com. Future plans for ASI include three more waves of hiring. The hiring waves are scheduled for April, June and July. -30- |
