Rising Star Hydraulics expands, Brings new jobs to Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. - Rising Star Hydraulics, Inc. is expanding its Watertown operation and enlarging its workforce, Gov. Mike Rounds announced today.
Over the next three years, Rising Star Hydraulics, a general tube fabricator, is expected to bring 30 new jobs to Watertown and significantly increase its production capacity. Rising Star’s production space will more than double when it moves from its current location into the former Dakota Bodies, Inc. facility at Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park in mid-November.
“This expansion by Rising Star Hydraulics is certainly good news, and it marks the latest in a series of recent business expansions in Watertown,” said Gov. Rounds. “Those expansions have been made possible by the close cooperation of community leaders, state government and the businesses.”
Rising Star is the third Watertown company in the last month to announce a major expansion and addition of jobs.  In late October, Dakota Bodies, Inc and Metrix, LLC both announced employment growth and plans to simultaneously move to a new building together.
“For almost a year, we have been  trying to find a new home for our growing business. Dakota Bodies’ expansion and relocation opened up a great building for us,” said Dan Gabriel, President of Rising Star Hydraulics.
Craig Atkins, Focus Watertown President says that available properties are a key element in any expansion or relocation.
“We have not before been involved in the move of a growing business so closely linked with the expansions of other businesses,” said Atkins. “An ideal combination of opportunities and perfect timing lined up to make this happen.  Focus Watertown is excited to have assisted with this complex business transaction.”
