Road Work on Highway 38 in Minnehaha County
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Crews have begun work on South Dakota Highway 38 in Minnehaha County to widen the road for the addition of turn lanes.
The construction will take place over the next several months between the junction of Highway 19 on the west edge of Humboldt and the western edge of Sioux Falls.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone at times when road-widening dirt work is being done. Work-zone locations will be about one-half mile in length and will move as the work progresses, with traffic controlled by flaggers.
Motorists also need to be aware of pipe extension and box culvert extension work in various stretches of Highway 38 during the construction period.
The project will include asphalt milling and overlay work once the widening and box culvert extension work is complete.
